Marketing And Media Manager

We are looking for an ambitious marketing and media manager (MM) to grow awareness and interest of the Discovery brand and to convert that interest into engagement and sales of both new and upcycled models.

The MM will work closely with the founders and senior team and develop and execute strategies which leverage our unique brand across owned, earned and paid media. Working with in-house advisers and appointed agencies.

Based – Plymouth, South Devon
Basic salary – market related
Plus bonus linked to sales and agreed KPIs

Contract type – Permanent
Working hours – Full Time
Commencement date – January 2025

Responsibilities

  • manage the development/implementation of a core marketing strategy to encompass both brand and product promotion
  • build a marketing plan for the year ahead around key moments (eg boat shows, product launches, events)
  • build and leverage research insights into Discovery’s market, brand, audience and customer
  • set and control budgets and timings
  • set and control all brand and creative execution
  • develop creative content (video, editorial and stills photography)
  • manage the Discovery website and newsletter
  • manage external agencies and partners
  • set, manage and optimise social media comms across all selected platforms
  • manage PR and contact with key titles
  • manage all database and email comms
  • liaise with the team on all events and boat shows
  • lead and deliver our quarterly house magazine

Qualifications

  • Degree level academics, preferably in marketing, media, communications or languages
  • A number of years experience as a marketing executive with broad responsibilities
  • A track record in developing and executing marketing strategies that drive growth and achieve business objectives
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced start up environment
  • Yacht industry experience preferred but not essential
  • Language skills a positive
